Here in the US the rate is closer to 50% and still increasing year after year. There are many factors are play here and one of them has to be the women movement of the last decade creating an equal level of pay in the work force and allowing women to be more self sufficient.

In the countries where women have equal rights this is a normal trend. In the countries where women are opressed the divorce rate is lower.

Divorces should become easier and not harder. Couples should NOT be encouraged to pretend to want the marriage to continue, for the sake of the courts. NO FAULT divorce should become the norm, with NO FINANCIAL OBLIGATION to EITHER PARTY, and EQUAL PARENTING rights to both parties. Let us get prepared for the increasing divorces. As for future males, they better learn about the anti-male laws and increasing divorce rates, before getting married. WAKE UP, males! WAKE UP!

I think this is a positive trend. I have seen people suffocating in their marriagee afraid to divorce. This is not the way to live life. I feel, if a individual wants out, he should walk away from the marriage.
Increasing divorce rates is a good sign. I feel good.

Buildings are not very cheap and not every person is able to buy it. But, home loans was invented to aid people in such kind of hard situations.
Well divorce in good in some sense, there is no point in being unhappy and waste your whole life living somebodies else life. But most people should also understand the impact on the society, like western countries have strong social security(donation, scholarship, food stamps) which can help special single parents raise kids which is good enough to maintain certain basic standard. Hopefully things will change to bridge the gap between poor and rich people soon. Comments appreciated shawnp7603@gmail.com

This is very disturbing statistics. Have we, men and women become so uncompromising that living under the same roof threatens our sustenance instead of evoking harmony? Of course, there could be genuine issues between couples that could only be solicited by mutual separation, but if this happens with every other marriage, then we do have a serious social concern that needs immediate attention.
Well problems always existed in Indian marriages. But now because of financial upliftment of women, they have learnt to voice their opinions and moreover, the society is slowly accepting it.
Why make divorce such a bad word. Its better to part in peace than to live in an eternal hell.
