Suicide Bombers’ Strike over Virgin Issue

I admit this is not written by me – but it’s just the most creative piece I have read in a long time.. and hillarious! Enjoy..

  • Slave trade of Kid Suicide Bombers by Taliban

There is a slave trade going on in kids for killing them by Taliban. But its not new. Such slave trade – in just better holier-rhetorical has been conducted by the Pakistani Government and their allies, the Jehadis for over two decades now.

The going price for a young Pakistani child: $7,000 to $14,000. It comes with bomb straps, free, around the kid and the compensation is based on his ability to get near the “target” to blow himself up.

While the kids in the other countries are worrying about their homeworks or playing thier next local game, a Pakistani kid from poor areas is busy preparing himself to blow up.

Despite what the Governments like the US have been saying in public about Islam and Terrorism not being linked, the Pentagon does not believe that to be so. In Pentagon’s opinion, a suicide bomber is behaving as a normal and rational Muslim when he commits suicide while bombing.

“Suicide in defense of Islam is permitted, and the Islamic suicide bomber is, in the main, a rational actor,” concludes a recent Pentagon briefing paper titled, “Motivations of Muslim Suicide Bombers.”

  • The Iran Crackdown at Baharestan

    The Iran Crackdown at Baharestan

Today there was a big protest at the Baharestan Square – which is a very important place for commerce in Tehran. According to the some eyewitness reports, there were 500 police/armed Government men came armed with sticks and guns and started shooting and beating the protestors. Many were thrown over from the pedestrian bridge there.

A woman whom CNN interviewed called it a massacre. According to other reports as well, there were many who were shot.

Today, in a way, was probably THE most cruel crackdown and massacre in Iran since the current crisis began. Where is Iran headed?

Well, now the current fight has changed. People do not respect the Clerics in Iran much – at least the middle class urban folks – I have talked to some and they at least make fun of them. Ahmednejad, in that sense, was a breath of “fresh air” for them. He was a person of common means and a very educated person. And he led a military based Government. The fight between Moussavi and Ahmednejad was between Islamists and Militarists. Many sided with one of the other, more because they were either sick of Ahmednejad or liked him.. and not necessarily because they wanted more power to the Islamists.

  • “Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore will be blown up in a cloud of smoke”

Watch this video – to see the statement from Obama and from Hamid Gul. The aspirations of arguably Pakistan’s leading ex-General of ISI and a powerful figure in that country are VERY disturbing to say the least.

He is a “thought-leader” within Pakistan and has the pulse of the Jehadi minds within ISI and Pak Army. Baitullah Mehsud and Fazlullah, far from being an enemy are quoted by him as assets against India. The question is – do the Pakistani people even get it?

  • Mohallel: a religion-sanctioned “One Night Stand”?

How ridiculous can customs get can be understood from this rather strange custom followed in Islamic societies based on some Islamic law.

There is a clause in the religious laws on marriage according to which: if a man divorces his wife, he cannot marry her again unless another man marries her next, spends one night (have sex), and then divorces her.

This temporary or contract husband – is called “Mohallel” or middleman.

One person whose account I stumbled across while googling about this custom calls it a “One Night Stand” – probably the only religion-sanctioned one-night-stand in the world.[1] It is fairly obvious what problems such a custom can create. As this lady discussed when it happened in their family and the divorced wife was actually very pretty and from a big family. So the husband had the “recruit” this worker in someone’s factory to do “the job”. The worker spent one night with his wife, had sex, and the errant husband actually paid him a lot of money to divorce!

What if – just what if the one-night-stand “contract hubby” does NOT divorce? What would happen then?? Well, this interesting angle was the subject of an award-winning movie called “Mohalel”.

  • Intriguing Circle of Jehad from Pakistan

The small town in Afghanistan, Khwaja Bahauddin, is a place which was named after the 17th in the chain of transmission of Naqshbandi order (starting with Prophet Mohammad) – one of the major tasawwuf tariqa (orders) of Islam – which is known for its “sober” and silent dhikr or remembrance/meditation of God. On September 9, 2001 however, it was anything but silent or sober.[1]

An explosion occured in Khwaja Bahauddin and Ahmed Shah Massoud and Mohammed Asim Suhail were killed. Mohammad Fahim Dashty and Massoud Khalili were injured. And history of South Asia changed decisively.

“If they kill me, you should know they are coming.” Massoud, commander of Northern Alliance, told the Americans on a tour in Europe just before his assassination. Two days later, Al Qaeda operatives flew two planes into the World Trade Towers, one in Pentagon and another was brought down in Pennsylvania.

Ahmed Shah Massoud was a Shia and his Northern Alliance was encouraged by the US against the Soviets. When Taliban came into the picture, it came as an enemy of Masood and the Shia-Northern Alliance. Taliban was Pakistan’s direct creation.

Massoud knew that. So angry he was with Pakistan, that his men bombed Pakistani embassy in Kabul on July 10, 2000. [2] Pakistan was one of the three countries in the world to recognize Taliban. Its embassy was just next to the residence of Mullah Omar.

  • Sikhs in Pakistan pay Rs2 crore in Jizya for their safety

The Shariat followers and the Islamic rulers (from Mughals, except Akbar, to Taliban) have always subjugated the non-Muslims. Any discussion of Islamic “love” for non-Muslims somehow does not bear itself out in practice in practical governance around the world.

Now, that Pakistan is under Taliban in the Swat and NWFP areas, the nightmare of the non-Muslims will come alive. Hindus have already left or are leaving the area. Now, the news comes that Sikhs have paid Rs. 2 crores (20 million) as Jizya to escape Taliban brutality. Taliban was occupying the houses of the 35 Sikh families for days and demanding a sum of Rs 5 crores, before they negotiated and agreed to a ransom (ok, they call it by that crooked and derogatory term – Jizya) of Rs. 2 crores.

  • LeT targeting Indian Space Program: War of Dark Consciousness of Evil vs Light of Knowledge

Sarfaraz Nawaz had joined Students Islamic Movement of India in 1995 and attended Nadwat-ul-Ulema in Lucknow and then worked at the SIMI HQ in Delhi in 2000. He was an Lashkar-e-Toibba operative in India. Basically, hired by LeT, this SIMI member was trained by LeT. [1]

He had attended meetings in Muscat along with Jasim alias Tahsin (a citizen of Pakistan) and another LeT operative named Ali. Jasim and Ali had discussed targeting Indian scientists from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The targets?

    • Alex,
    • Sajivnath
    • Suresh Kumar
    • A female Muslim scientist from UP (a lady scientist working in Agni missile project)
    • G Madhavan Nair, Head of ISRO

In December, 2005 an attack was carried out on scientists of Indian Institute of Science, where one died (Professor MC Puri, retired Professor Emeritus in the Mathematics Department of Delhi’s IIT) and four got injured.

The main target, says Nawaz, are the scientists who work on India’s Space Programme. That is very significant.

  • US surveillance shows ISI directly supporting Taliban and Jehadis

Reports in Wall Street Journal and New York Times suggest that US and Pakistani officials are drawing up new list of targets to neutralize with drone attacks.

More and more US administration officials now believe that Taliban and Jehadis are DIRECTLY helped and supported by Pakistani Intelligence agency ISI.

The report followed another in the New York Times on Wednesday that said the Taliban’s military campaign in southern Afghanistan was aided partly by support from operatives in Pakistan’s military intelligence agency.

U.S. officials told the Times that proof of the ties came from electronic surveillance and trusted informants.

Things are just going to get more and more complicated as we go on.. as the bomb blast this morning demonstrated.

  • Zakaria’s Distinguishing between Response to Taliban vs Al Qaeda Is Faulty

I have a very high regard for Fareed Zakaria as an analyst of world politics and economy. But today I was very disappointed at the way he addressed a very major crisis in the South Asian world. And it is more disappointing because he is from India and has been in touch with the folks here on many occassions.

His topic today was the difference in the world’s response for Islamists who don’t hurt the “world” (like Taliban) and those who do (like Al Qaeda).

I firmly believe that the difference is minimal. And here is why:

“The extent of Taliban/ISI/Jihadi cooperation was revealed during the Indian hostage crisis of 1999, the resolutiion of which I witnessed first hand”

Says Zahid Hussain in “Frontline Pakistan” while referring to the Indian Airlines hijacking crisis in 1999 – which best showed how ISI, LeT/JeM and Taliban were joined at the hip! And that is the central issue to understand. Taliban is not a separate set of people. They have an aim. And according to Fareed, that aim is “Islamic rule” and not “Global” Jehad. I feel it clearly goes beyond that in its totality.

But lets first analyze Fareed’s statement. Ok, first let us be clear of some basic hometruths in the context:

  • Officers in Pak Ministry of IT were Phone Guides of Mumbai Attackers

Officers in Pak Ministry of IT were Phone Guides of Mumbai Attackers

In the 26/11 chargesheet, India has pointed specifically to a serving Colonel rank Pak Army official and a civilian with operation of the VoIP communication that guided terrorists along. They are Colonel R. Saadat Ullah and Khurram Shazad – both with Special Communication Organisation operating under Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Technology. They had opened a VoIP account with Callphonex, US using Kharak Singh as the name. It was opened on Oct 21, 2008. And first payment of $250 was made on October 27 via a Moneygram from Paracha International Exchange a moneygram agent in Lahore. A second payment of $229 was made on November 25, 2008. A day before the terrorist team reached Mumbai.

  • Taliban with Pakistani Nukes … and global aims?

Colonel Dr Anil Athale (retd), a former joint director, war studies, ministry of defence, and co-ordinator of the Pune-based Initiative for Peace and Disarmament, writes in a rediff article about the impending Talibanization of Pakistan.[1] He of course, has not mentioned how Taliban has almost solidified their hold of Karachi.. and now have reached a deal with Dawood Ibrahim. It makes sense for both the sides – Taliban will get access to the money-making machinery of Dawood in Karachi and Mumbai.. while Dawood gets access to the opium from Afghanistan and the ready route out of that area to Europe and beyond for the contraband, which will be blocked from Afghanistan without the patronage of the Taliban.

Another thing he didn’t mention was the ABSOLUTE lack of Government writ in Swat – and all this has happened in just a couple of years – just a few kilometers away from Islamabad. If you want to know how bad it is – read the interview of Geo TV Executive Editor Hamid Mir about the death of Musa Khankhel in Swat and the complete withdrawal of press from that area in view of sheer force of blackmail by Taliban![3]

    • I A Rehman writing in the Dawn newspaper on February 12 says ‘the Pakistani armed forces were indoctrinated in General Zia-ul Haq’s rule to reserve senior posts for genuine Islamists. The Pakistan army [Images] may have the capacity to kill hordes of people, but it will not — and cannot — do that.’ The army and the State may well disintegrate if it does.
    • General Ashfaq Kayani, son of a former soldier, is the first non-elite chief of the Pakistani army. Given his socio-economic background, he is more likely to be part of the ‘natural’ constituency of the Taliban.

  • Beheading in Buffalo and the Lunatic Fringe!

Muzzammil “Mo” Hassan came to the police station to tell them that his wife had died at their home. When they went there they saw that her body was in the hallway and her head was lying near by. She had been beheaded!

Mo Hassan runs Bridges TV with the aim of “bridge cultural divide between the West and the Muslims”. Described as a gentle guy – traditional yet not very religious. For example, he wouldn’t let women in his office if his wife was not there or had blocked a story on the first Muslim woman to win the title of Miss England in 2005.

While some suggest that it was his traditionality that made him copy the method of killing that is popular among the Islamists back home in Pakistan because of Honor Killing; others suggest that he resorted to this action because of a domestic dispute gone bad!

  • British Pakistanis greatest homeland threat to the US

British Pakistani community is being seen as the greatest threat to the US post 26/11 by the CIA. The President has been informed by the CIA that it has started a vast spying operation in the UK to keep a tab on the LeT linked people in that country. US has a visa waiver for the British citizens and if the rhetoric in the mosques (watch this dispatch) – even the biggest ones – is any indication, then they are breeding grounds for terrorists who would, if given the right situation, go against their target – Jews, Americans, and Indians.

British society has been very liberal in the way it has allowed such elements to perpetuate in their society and they have taken full advantage of it Bruce Riedel, a former CIA officer says: “The British Pakistani community is recognised as probably al-Qaida’s best mechanism for launching an attack against North America.”

  • Dispatches from Undercover Mosques: “Moderate” fronts reveal their Uncompromising and Terrible Minds

We have discussed sometimes before that the “moderate dialog” in Islam and show of tolerance is just a front for what is even more sinister that is being preached, discussed and spread around the world. Specially in the minds of the youth.

These are dispatches from Channel 4 (British Channel) where the reporter goes undercover to the mainstream and the main mosques in Britain and records what is preached in the mosques. What one sees in mainstream and regular religious dialog is mindboggling! One suddenly wonders if all the talk of religious tolerance, the human rights, and women rights that many of these clerics and other moderates keep talking about are just a hog-wash!

To understand how this works, you will see it at every step and in every “moderate” voice and one can’t find more stark example than in the statement of the Saudi Government (which you will see in this film). The themes are no different than what Osama Bin Laden, Hamid Gul, or others preach regularly. That is what they totally and unequivocally believe in and work towards.

The message is uncompromising and of complete domination. It is stark and terrible to even fathom what the kids and youth are being brain-washed with.

  • Gilani’s intelligence and forensic science and laws of Pakistan

Some interesting things happening in the Indo-Pak situation these days.

Gilani was never one of the most intelligent guys out there, but a couple of days back he was wondering why is the world so concerned about the Mumbai Attacks, when more people died in Marriott and Benazir attacks in Pakistan and when a number of people are dying in Gaza.[3]

Lets understand this a little better:

    1. Mumbai was not just terrorism – it was a war! A war that was NOT started by India, for one, but totally conjured up by LeT and ISI for their goal of breaking India up. Most of these idiots call it payback for Bangladesh. Anyone – specially Pakistani – who blames India for what happened in Bangladesh in 1971 is basically dishonest and lying. Every Pakistani knows – specially post Hamidur Rahman Report [1], as to who the main and central culprit was.

  • Pakistan Establishment involved in Mumbai Attacks: India’s Foreign Secy

India’s foreign secretary, Shiv Shankar Menon – an ex High Commissioner from India to Pakistan – has said that “it is hard to believe” that the Mumbai attack, commando style as they were, could be carried out without anybody, anywhere in the (Pak) establishment knowing that this was happening. [1]

He should know. Most Indian consulate members are victims of high handedness from ISI. It is customary in a lot of gatherings in Delhi to invite the Pakistani High Commissioners and the peaceniks love to get their photos taken with them. But whenever the similar invites have been given to Indian High Commissioners in Islamabad, even for a simple meal, they get a very harsh treatment from ISI.

  • Palestinian Fanaticism and Israeli bombings

Israel is attacking Hamas and Palestinians in Gaza. Many are angry and predictability, the Islamic world is characterizing it as a “crime”. In my personal view, nothing could be further from truth!

Now, let us put the – for a moment, although its not in fashion – onus on the Hamas, Palestinians and Muslims themselves of all this! If Palestinians want peace – then what do you think any Pacifist leader or Prophet or Saint would have suggested to them? To show love to the Israelis and in return they will be shown love. If Gandhi or Jesus was their leader he would have suggested that love the Israelis so much that they are forced to stop the bloodshed.

How many of you have heard this line? From ANYONE… Pacifist or non-Pacifist in the Islamic world??

But how often have we heard this line to be taken by the Israelis? That their “hatred” and violence is leading to violence from the Palestinians? Why should the Pacifist onus be ONLY on the adversary of ONE group only? And more importantly, why should ONLY the Muslims have the right to vengeance in face of an “atrocity” – imagined or otherwise? Indeed WHY?

Look at the video on the right… it is Fort Lauderdale. Look at what the Muslim supporters – whom many will call “Moderate” or Peaceful Muslims – shout stuff that if I or you would shout such things at Muslims, we would be booked under Hate Crimes! There is this lady who is shouting that Israel be Nuked. And then the lady has the perverse mind to tell the Israelis that they should be sent to the “Oven” – obviously showing support for Nazi crimes. No matter how much hurt you feel – this kind of dialog cannot be condoned! But this is what you hear from “Moderates” in Fort Lauderdale.. not even in an Islamic neighborhood of Paris!

  • After Sexually mutilating and killing Guests, Mumbai Terrorist performed Namaaz before own death!

After Sexually mutilating and killing Guests, Mumbai Terrorist performed Namaaz before own death!

One of the reasons why I really seriously want PUNITIVE action against the Islamist terror minds in Pakistan – which includes the people in Pak Army and ISI – is because of not just that they are creating havoc for people who do not want to have anything to do with war or violence but because they are SICK and PERVERSE and downright ANIMALS!

Remember Lt. Saurabh Kalia and his jawans? This is how they were tortured when that party had gone to check out the incursions in Kargil (before the fight) and were captured [1]:

eyes and eardrums were pierced, the private organs cut, his chest burned, no eyes, no jaws, and there were cigarette burns all over his body.

The very same animal in these guys also ended up sexually humiliating the victims in Mumbai. During the Mumbai attacks, the terrorists had their foreign victims stripped (white skin is still reverred in the perverse mind-sets of these Islamic Jehadis) and sexually humiliated. In photographs released by the police forensic team taken after the hotel was sanitized show some guests (foreign guests) in nude.

  • Constructive and Destructive societies

After the two blocs finished infighting after the cold war, the Soviet Union faded away in the late 80s and that created a vacuum. So in steps China that is clearly going to take the place of the Soviet Union and I think the second one is India partly because of its size, because it’s a nuclear power, and a democracy along with its heritage and economy. All these combine into third party influences.

Then there are the other players and there are the radicals and the extremists of the Islamic world that want to bring back the golden era of Islam, with the understanding that there is a limit to resources like oil. The Bin Ladens-not the person but the phenomenon that he represents have two optionsone is join the rest of the world and work on science and technology and see the production or (two) if the ship has left the dock try to destroy it. I think that is really the bigger picture. (emphasis added) [1]

This is very well put. I can’t really say about what happened in other countries and other times, but the historical landscape of radical and militant Islam and its interaction with the “other” world is predicated on this ONE option – the option #2. Whether it was Babar’s attack on India or it was Ghori’s attack or Aurangzeb’s destruction of art and subjugation of music.. or whether it is Saudi Arabia’s claustrophobic laws and Taliban’s equally medieval laws and acts (though not as skillfully camoflaged in finery as Saudi ones are).. the pattern is very similar. Destroy what you find is better than what you can think of or what looks different!

  • Doesn’t anybody in Pakistan just “get it”??

Day after day it seems more and more obvious that Pakistani Government just doesn’t “get it”! Mumbai Attacks were not just ANOTHER bomb attack.. it was an act of war and you don’t get away with it so easily. Someone has got to pay for that. And as the evidence piles up, it seems obvious that (a) it is not the “Non state actors” but the groups within the Pakistani Government who are responsible (b) Those criminals and terrorists are not only not being arrested and eliminated, but being harbored and saved by the Government.

Now, after all this, Pakistani Government has the gumption to suggest to the Indian Government that it will be “irresponsible” to speculate on the Mumbai attacks before the results of the probe come out. [1] Hello! Which “Probe” is this? Probe is not some kind of an arbitrary examination that will end one day and some Pakistani official will come out with a list of results… but its the result of various evidencde that the different agencies are gathering.

Just as an example, FBI interrogated Kasab for 9 hours and confirmed lanes and by lanes of the area he was born and brought up – Ukkad area of Faridkot district.[2]

In fact the anger in India is so much that even as Trident – a luxury hotel – opened up, its President made it clear that the hotel will henceforth bar Pakistani Nationals from the hotel.[3]

  • Fanatical Islam, Sufi Islam and Sharif’s indictment of Pakistani Government

Imagine the economic and social problems of Muslims in India is solved, imagine the Kashmir problem is also solved; imagine too, the Israelis and Palestinians have made peace. Would al Qaeda and the various self-proclaimed jihadists “then put their guns down?”

Indeed ask this question. This was posed by Salman Rushdie in New York.[1]

And then he went on to make the point that I had made earlier in my post on Mumbai Attacks. Fanatical Islam (Sunni Wahabi) had taken over the Sufi Islam in the sub continent. Kashmir was about THAT dominance! Contrary to what most moderate commentators would like to suggest there are different “Islams”. Some are more fanatical than others. Sufi Islam has been used by some fanatics to justify their activities on the grounds of victimization and maintain a cloak of plausible deniability!

The terrorists were not really concerned what happened in Kashmir, he continued, and their action has to do with everything that overtook Sufi Islam in Pakistan and had it replaced by “fanatical Islam, an Arabised Islam.”

Soul searching is always required by everyone. And I also maintain that organized religions/sects and anything to do with any Guru/Prophet/Masters/Saints has been the nemesis of mankind.

  • Murder of Gen. Alavi, Nukes for Bin Laden and Pakistan’s STATE actors in terror network

A month back a Pakistani Major General was killed. Maj Gen. mir Faisal Alavi. On November 19, two gunmen shot dead Alavi and his driver outside Islamabad.

    He Knew It

Jang [1] the Pakistani newspaper disclosed that he was killed because Alavi was about to expose the links between Pakistani Army and the Taliban. He had “threatened” to expose Pakistani Generals for ‘deals’ with Taliban militants. This made him a “hot potato” in that establishment. Now, of course, the Pakistani Army is calling the entire story a “slander”! [6]

Alavi had sensed his future killing and had reportedly told his friends that he was anticipating that he will be “eliminated” as he knew too much.

In fact he had been sacked by Musharraf as he had been against a pact with Taliban reported Jang, a Pakistani newspaper.

    The Letter to Gen. Kayani

Carey Schofield has been collecting material on the Pakistan Army for last two years and visiting various garrisons and military installations on the pretext of writing a book “Inside the Pakistan Army”, which she intends to get published next year by Soap Box Books. In this process, she had met many military officers and often prolonged her stay at different locations to get maximum material. link

Alavi had also written a letter addressed to the Pakistani Army Chief which he sent to a British Journalist Carey Shoefield with the instructions that the letter be published in case he is assassinated. The letter was published but the names of the two Generals accused by Alabi have been blacked out.[3]

It is not that the world has not known of the close tie-up and indeed an alliance between Pakistan’s establishment and the terror networks. On Drishtikone we have written about this alliance several times.. and even during the Mumbai Attacks I was certain of the links between different terror players but despite the fact that Pakistan’s common man faces this threat the most… they go on to support the Terror Masters combine of ISI/Taliban/AQ/Dawood/Jehadis/Pakistan Army!

  • Is Evidence Displaying a “Blame Game”?

Ek to chori.. upar se seena-zori?
(after the theft .. thief acts like the aggrieved)

(75% of all terror plots originate from Pakistan says British PM)

All the evidence gathered by FBI, Indian intelligence, British intelligence and forensic stuff from the scene points to a clear finger at Pakistan. There is NO doubt in the minds of people like Dr. Singh, Pranab Mukherjee, LK Advani, Condi Rice and other US officials, as well as the British PM and officials. So, what does Pakistan have to say about it?

“Stop the Blame Game” and “improve” ties!

Just the suggestion that displaying credible proof to point at the culprit is a “Blame Game” simply insults my intelligence! And honestly, when despite the firm evidence on where the criminal act emanated out of (and WHO did it), if some one keeps suggesting that it is a somehow “wrong” to even gather and accumulate the evidence and POINT to the culprit…. then honestly, I lose faith in any pretense of such a person/s being “Moderates” or peaceniks. They are simply reduced to being FRONTS FOR TERRORISM!

So, the extremists attack and the moderates simply obfuscate.

I don’t think the common Pakistani who is into this “Blame Game/Peacenik/Improve ties” chorus even understands what he/she is doing!!

  • Hamid Gul: Terrorist Mind that should be neutralized

Hamid Gul: Terrorist Mind that should be neutralized

This man is Hamid Gul or rather Lieutenant General Hamid Gul,Sitara-e-Jurat is a retired Pakistani general famous for heading the Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistani intelligence agency, after the Soviet-Afghan War, and for instigating the Kashmir insurgency in 1989 with the support of mujahideen that fought in the Soviet-Afghan war.

He has been in news for all the wrong reasons – tipping off Osama Bin Laden on US strikes, Assassination of Benazir Bhutto (twice attempted – first time she escaped, but the second time he got her); and now he is said to be the mastermind of 26/11 against India.

US is moving ahead in United Nations sessions to brand him a global terrorist and thus make him a person to be extradicted. But he is no easy catch as his mentor – Zia ul Haq; his PM – Benazir; his protege – Musharraf.. have all fallen off the wayside.. but he still thrives! He knows things that are too deep in national secret codes.

Gul has been a thorn in the Indian backside for long. He is credited to have started and helped the Khalistani terrorism in the 1980s.
