Dassault ‘Report’ by Mediapart – A Portal Run by Fake news journalist who backed Charlie Hebdo attackers

Contrary to a report in Mediapart, a French portal, Dassault has clarified that it freely chose the partners, including Reliance.  There were other partners as well including Mahindra, Kinetic, BTSL, etc.

Within the framework of the September 2016 Inter-Government Agreement between France and India, Dassault Aviation has sold 36 Rafale aircraft to India. In compliance with the Indian regulations (Defence Procurement Procedure) and as frequent with such a contract, Dassault Aviation has committed to offsets in India worth 50% of the value of the purchase.
In order to deliver some of these offsets, Dassault Aviation has decided to create a joint-venture. Dassault Aviation has freely chosen to make a partnership with India’s Reliance Group. This joint-venture, Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd (DRAL), was created February 10, 2017.
Other partnerships have been signed with other companies such as BTSL, DEFSYS, Kinetic, Mahindra, Maini, SAMTEL,… Other negotiations are ongoing with a hundred-odd other potential partners.

This was after Mediapart reported that a document had shown an official Loik Segalen saying to his staff in May 2017 that Reliance JV was a “trade off” and “imperative and mandatory”.

For those who don’t know – Mediapart is run by Edwy Plenel – a French journalist who has been disgraced and is controversial.  In 1991, he was responsible for fake news on Panama scandal in Le Monde.

Apart from that, he is known to have been pulled up by Charlie Hebdo for being a proxy for Islamists and backing the Salafi Islamist preacher Tariq Ramadan, whose father Said Ramadan was a prominent figure in Muslim Brotherhood and exiled by Gamal Abdel Nassar from Egypt.  Edwy was roundly criticized for his role in backing Ramadan up against Hebdo.

The article said:

A confirmed fake news journalist who is an Islamist sympathizer now brings out a report in his portal to make innuendos on Modi.  An act that will favor Congress party (self declared Muslim Party with history of assertion that Muslims have first right on nation’s assets) in its inquisition.

Is that just a coincidence?
