How to talk to Ice Age folks

Have you ever thought if you were transported to the Ice Age or Stone Age, how would you communicate with those people?  Well according to a new study it seems that at least we will be able to speak some thing.

And what about going forward?  Well, there are somethings that the people in that time would not understand when we would speak today’s language. 🙂

With the Ice Age folks – you could start off with “I .. so&so… Thou Who?”  and you could teach them some Maths.. like this “Two.. TWOOO.. (show fingers)… and THREEE… is FIVE”.

These they would get completely!  Now, don’t ask me how and why? But Mark Pagel, of the University of Reading, research leader says that he has been able to track the evolutionary history of Indo-European back almost 30,000 years, using a new IBM supercomputer.

Words that have persisted over the years: I, Who, We, Thou, Two, Three and Five
Words that may disappear: Dirty, squeeze, bad, because, guts, push (verb), smell (verb), stab, stick (noun), turn (verb), wipe
