Indian Oil to implement SAP in Sri Lankan Petroleum sector

Sri Lanka’s downstream petroleum sector is implementing SAP.  Specifically it is the:

Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd (CPSTL), a common user facility running the software with Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Lanka IOC which own the firm being fee paying clients.

.. who are implementing the 350 million Sri Lankan Rupee project.  And who is implementing?  Indian Oil Corporation!  Did not know that IOC is a consulting company!?  But well they probably have enough experience now as their SAP installation was really huge and completeled many years back:

Indian Oil’s SAP implementation across 681 locations covering seven refineries was the largest in South East Asia head of IOC’s information systems S Ramasamy said.

The project will be completed in ONE YEAR’s time.
