‘Govt Has No Option But To React Militarily’

In the aftermath of the terrorist strike in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, the government, other than exercising its diplomatic choices, has no option but to react in the “military sphere”, says Lieutenant General DS Hooda (retd). In an interview with SNI’s Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale, General Hooda, who was Northern Army Commander during the surgical strike by India in September 2016 in the wake of a terrorist strike in Uri, termed the Pulwama strike that led to at least 37 paramilitary personnel being martyred “extreme provocation” for which Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility.
