“Many are the strange chances of the world,' said Mithrandir, 'and help oft shall come from the hands of the weak when the Wise falter.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion

1. America's Wealth

US is the most powerful country in the world, even when it may not be the richest.  But how rich is America?  Sometimes we forget the context.  This is one eye-opener.  Americans hold $153T in wealth, 21% of that is in retirements accounts, 61% owned by boomers and older.  It is one heck of a thread!

2. Who is Amritpal Sandhu

Amrit Pal Sandhu has suddenly burst on the scene as Bhindranwale 2.0  Who is he?  How did this guy who dropped in India just 6 months back with hair cut and following a bohemian life suddenly became the voice of an imaginary Khalsa nation?  An eye-opening thread.

3. Europe from an Artist's eyes

Pieter Bruegel the Elder was a prominent artist during the Dutch and Flemish Renaissance period. He was a painter and printmaker who was best known for his landscapes and peasant scenes. He was one of the first to make these subjects the focus of large paintings.  His paintings documented life in Europe during his era beautifully.

4. Kafir women as booty

Historians of the winners have a pattern.  They sanitize the deeds of their masters.  And when people look back, they do not fully comprehend the genesis of the problems that world is facing today.  When we look back at the Islamic kingdoms, history often talks about the art.  What they do not share is the treatment of women who were used as booty of war.  Some paintings have recorded those days and deeds for posterity.  Here is a telling thread on those times.

5. Future of ChatGPT

ChatGPT is the talk of the town globally.  But where is it going?  What can we expect in future?  OpenAI is coming up with a new service called Foundry.  It uses ChatGPT 4.0.

What is it?  It will provide dedicated servers for developers to build their own applications on top of the GPT API.  Here is an extremely informative thread on Foundry.
