“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Airman's Odyssey

There is no one “sitting anywhere” to save us or change things.  We are it.  Either we change ourselves and our destiny or we will perish.  Our brutality and insensitivity have not changed.  The weapons have.  We have become more sophisticated in killing others and even better at justifying and getting away scot-free.

If we are the instruments, source, and target of change, then it is clear that we have failed in accessing our humanity.  Two incidents today, made anyone with a bit of humanity pause.  And think.  More importantly, it made one entertain a thought of hopelessness of human destiny.

If this is what we are after the work of so many great beings on this planet.  If this is what we are after nature and the universe has worked on our evolution for billions of years, then maybe it is better that human-kind vanishes because of environmental change as the scientists are predicting it will.

We cannot be humans while interacting with each other and we don’t think twice before we destroy the planet’s other species.  What right do we really have to exist anymore?

as massacred son’s brain lay beside the grieving mother

This is a young man from Munger.  His name is Anurag.  He is dead.  And his mother has his broken head hidden in her bosom.  That besides her on the road, is his brain-matter.

I wanted to write something else today but this one photograph, as gory as it is, just didn’t allow my humanity to move on.

This woman, Lipi Singh, daughter of a politician and a police officer, however, had absolutely no qualms in blaming Anurag for his death.

IPS Lipi Singh - Home | Facebook

She is a terrible police office and a pathetic human being, that is clear.  Given her karmas, when she becomes a mother, one hopes that Anurag’s face and splattered brain haunts her as she delivers her own kid!  Such a wretched person cannot have many gifts coming from the Universe for what she has sent its way.

Munger Hindu massacre

Today, a group of devotees who were taking a procession of Mata Durga were attacked and mercilessly beaten by the local police on the order of the SP Lipi Singh.  To justify this brutality, she and the local police made up a story of the locals attacking them with stones and guns.

How one wishes that this young man, indeed had something to same himself from the demonic police that attacked him.

Now the story  - it has been shared by a student who is from this area. (Source)

Munger has a large procession every year.  Actually, there are two processions.

One, of Badi Durga Mata.  It is a larger murti.  Local people and others from nearby districts join the procession.  This is how it starts off.

The Badi Durga Mata procession meets the Chhoti Durga Mata at a crossroads.  This chauraha is where the two murtis and devotees come together.

At this time, the police were pushing for the processions to end quickly.  Due to this, there was a verbal argument between the procession committee members and the administration.

The locals reported that Superintendent of Police, Lipi Singh gave orders for lathi-charge and violence started.

Police even resorted to firing.

Most of the crowd then dispersed.  However, some remained back to safeguard and be with the Badi Durga Mata murti.

The police then went on a rampage by beating those devotees just piling on each other without any provocation from the devotees.

At around 0.14 check the policeman who comes running in with made-up intent and starts to beat the heck out of the people lying there.

That young man, Anurag, whose skull was broken and brain-matter splattered on the road.  He was amongst these devotees.

The only other example of such mind-numbing brutality that one can remember is from Jalianwala Bagh.

One needs to understand what Nitish Kumar has to say about this.  If he does not say anything about this, then BJP has to leave this alliance with Nitish Kumar.

Nothing short of throwing Lipi Singh in jail and bringing these policemen up for murder would suffice.  No society should have these brutal animals roam around on the streets.  Leave alone police them!!

Update: many youths are missing

Not only were they mercilessly beaten but now the locals have filed a complaint that many of the young men are missing.  Especially those who were with the Badi Durga Mata murti. (Source)

The locals are angry at the very mess that has been created by these police officials.

Who was Anurag?

We are a country where everyone wants to talk about the personal lives of brutal terrorists.  No one wants to discuss the victims of brutality.  Let us take a moment to talk about him for a moment.

He was a very decent, well-behaved, and respecting young man.  The kind you don’t see these days.  He played guitar and would help out his friends with their studies and work.  Just five days back was his birthday.

Grooming (aka ‘Love Jihad’) takes the life of another Hindu girl

A guy who introduced himself as Rahul to a Hindu girl in Faridabad and once he had befriended her, he wanted her to convert to Islam.  She refused.  So he confronted her on the road in front of the college and shot her in full public view.

On Monday, a 21-year-old student named Nikita Tomar was shot dead in full public view by two men outside the Aggarwal college in Ballabgarh, Faridabad. A day before, she had filed an FIR accusing Sajid alias Rahul of harassment and trying to force her to convert to Islam. (Source)

This was yet another example of Grooming crime or “Love Jihad” as it is known in India.  The guy who committed this crime happens to be from a family that is prominent in Congress.

According to reports, Tauseef is the grandson of Kabir Ahmed, a Congress leader who was elected as an MLA from Haryana’s Nuh constituency in 1975 and from the Tauru constituency in 1982. He continued to be Khanpur and Raisika village sarpanch for almost 20 years. Khanpur and Raisika are located in Nuh Tehsil of Mewat district in Haryana.  Moreover, Tauseef’s late uncle Khurshid Ahmad was a Congress MP of Haryana and was an ex-Cabinet minister of Haryana. Khurshid Ahmed’s son and Taufeeq’s cousin brother Aftab Ahmed was elected as MLA from Nuh, Mewat on the ticket of Congress Party and has been a Minister as well. (Source)

Watch this.

One of my classmates, who was not very religious Hindu growing up, married a Muslim guy who seemed very progressive.  She used to still go by her old name, at least in front of us.  When I met her in the US, there was not much of evidence, at least overtly about how her marriage her happened.  But once we discussed about her Green card and she said the moment US government officials, then under Bush administration, see a Muslim name they delayed the process.  But, you don’t have a Muslim name, do you?  She said, well after marriage I had to.  And then she further admitted that the first thing they did after conversion was to make her eat beef!  “But the conversion was only a formality, and I eat meat, although not beef, but it wasn’t such a big deal.”

The fact was that she had been converted and just to humiliate her earlier family beliefs, at least, she was made to eat beef.  Because cows and beef have no relationship with Islam.  There are no cows in Arabia!  This beef fetish was created only and only for humiliating the Hindus.  That is the relationship.  It is a tool of humiliation.

With thousands of girls - White, Hindu, and Sikh specifically - in Europe and thousands in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh every year being kidnapped or seduced or lured and raped and converted to Islam, Grooming is a very serious social challenge!  Europe’s Grooming crimes have been almost entirely been committed by South Asian (specifically Pakistani) Muslims.  The same is the situation within the South Asian countries.

It is a crime of religious fanaticism and its tentacles have been seen in places as far off as Germany, UK, and even Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.

It is time for the Hindu, Sikh, and Christian communities to wake up to the challenge posed by this crime of fanaticism.

Land investment in Kashmir open to all: The ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Tuesday notified new laws for the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.  The Centre has given repealed or substituted 26 state laws.  As per the notification, any Indian citizen can buy land in J&K and in Ladakh.  The Centre has omitted "being a permanent resident of the state" as a precondition to buying land in J&K and in Ladakh. The MHA notification will come into force with immediate effect. (Source)

Army restructuring: The Indian Army is expected to be reorganized by 2022 under five theatre commands with defined operations and a seamless command structure for synchronized operation.  Soon after Cabinet's approval with the Department of Military Affairs will be Additional and Joint Secretaries, restructuring three services under the Theater Command has begun under serious consideration with the Special Northern Command of China and the Specific Western Command of Pakistan. Pompeo blasts China: US secretary of state Mike Pompeo on Tuesday offered his support to India as he mentioned the killing of Indian Army soldiers in eastern Ladakh’s Galwan Valley after a clash with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in June this year.  “We visited the National War Memorial to honor brave men and women of Indian armed forces who sacrificed for the world’s largest democracy, including 20 killed by PLA in Galwan Valley. The US will stand with India as they confront threats to their sovereignty, liberty,” Pompeo said while issuing a joint statement after the 2+2 India-US Ministerial Dialogue. (Source)

Erdogan angry at Macron: The French government said on Sunday it would recall the country’s ambassador in Ankara, after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan insulted French President Emmanuel Macron in a series of speeches, notably suggesting he needed “treatment on a mental level.”  Macron’s stance on the freedom to criticize and caricature religions, including Islam, is also creating an uproar in many Muslim countries. The French president may soon need more support on this — and on his confrontation with Turkey — from the rest of his European partners, who have remained mostly silent for now.  Meanwhile, France’s interests in the Middle East may suffer if the protests don’t subside. That is, however, a risk that the French president seems ready to take. (Source)

China to manage browsers: China's top cyber authority said on Monday it would carry out a "rectification" of Chinese mobile internet browsers to address what it called social concerns over the "chaos" of information being published online.  China's strict internet censorship rules have been tightened numerous times in recent years and in the latest crackdown, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) has told firms operating mobile browsers that they have until Nov. 9 to conduct a "self-examination" and rectify problems. Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri - a theoretical physicist par excellence

Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri passed away in 2005.  He has a renowned physicist in the area of the General theory of relativity and cosmology.  A simple person, he was as brilliant as he was unassuming.  He had shared the proof that demonstrates that singularities arise inevitably in general relativity.  That was known as the Raychaudhuri equation.  His work was the key ingredient in the proofs of the Penrose–Hawking singularity theorems.
