Ranbir Kapoor enters the A-listers asking for profit share after mere 10 movies!

Ranbir Kapoor, the latest sensation, is set to be the next Superstar, if he isn’t already one.  Right now only 3 A-list actors ask for a whopping 70% share in the profits of the movie they work in – Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Shahrukh Khan.  Now Ranbir Kapoor has stepped in that list and demanding that kind of money as well.

The deal has been insisted by Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir’s dad.  It is said that the deal for the movie Besharam (produced by Viacom 18) almost fell through because of this, until they came together to get it back on track.

This is what the Trade Analysts are saying:

Trade analyst Amod Mehra feels it is the perception about Ranbir that works for him. “The boy has got good reviews for his performances and so in the younger crop, he is the superstar. It is obvious his dad wants to make the best of this situation. It is all about smart thinking and smart marketing of talent,” Mehra said and added, “The stars of today are much smarter. We cannot run away from the truth that most movies run and are guaranteed to do well, if there is star power attached to them. So they might as well use it to their advantage.”
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “Most A-list stars like SRK, Salman, Aamir, Ajay, Saif, Akshay and now Ranbir ask for a percentage in the profit. They will only work with producers who agree to this. Most of these stars have turned producers themselves too.” (Source)

So basically, what these guys – Saif, Akshay, Ajay Devgun, SRK, Salman and Aamir – have been able to do after 20-25 years of work, Ranbir is able to step on to that plate after mere 10 movies!  Quite an achievement!
