How Western Wealth was Plundered from Colonies like India

There is a truth that needs telling. There is context that needs explaining. The racial superiority of Europeans over the people of the past colonies is predicated on ONE lie – that the former were advanced and rich. They were NOT. Their wealth and riches is a measure of their barbarity. In the riches of Western “civilization”, humanity stands ashamed!

In an interesting discussion, Kangana Ranaut eulogizes about London and how she it was such a beautiful city.  To this Sadhguru says that London, a city she so likes, was actually built on money plundered from India.

This is one aspect of Colonial history that no one talks about.  Western Europe and indeed the US later were built on the exploitation of the wealth and people of the colonies.

Not only were the Indians enslaved, but used in the World Wars, without the real participation of India as a country.  Obviously as canon fodder.

Over one million Indian troops served overseas, of whom 62,000 died and another 67,000 were wounded. In total at least 74,187 Indian soldiers died during the war. In World War I the Indian Army fought against the German Empire in German East Africa and on theWestern Front.

It is important to understand how the redistribution of the wealth happened due to colonial looting.

In the above chart, one can see how India went down post the British rule.  From roughly 25-27% of the world’s GDP to less than 4%!  Meanwhile, the share of UK shot up tremendously thanks to the wealth looted by them in India.  The chart below illustrates that better in terms of UK vs India.

All this is important to understand, because what is shown as a racial virtue – that Whites or Europeans were somehow “superior” – has been predicated on the worst human actions ever on this planet.  Colonialism and genocide were the basis of Western “civilization”.
