Netflix has come out with a new job ad that suggests this movie distribution juggernaut may be entering India very soon. This is what the ad is looking for:
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with the right mix of technical, organizational and communication skills to provide localization for the Netflix experience in the following languages: Turkish, Dutch, Hindi, German, Italian, Norwegian, Korean, and Japanese.
Native fluency, localization experience and creative writing in one or more of the above languages is essential. Knowledge or prior experience in the film/entertainment industry is definitely a plus.
Netflix may be expanding to markets like Germany, Holland, Turkey, Norway, Japan, Korea Italy and India. Amazon, Netflix’ main rival – with its LoveFilm – meanwhile is reported to be expanding into France by March 2013. It is already into Norway, Germany, Denmark and Sweden – apart from US.
So will we see Netflix streaming Indian – specially Bollywood – movies on web? Remains to be seen, since the Netflix is repeatedly denying the plans to enter India.
