The tyranny of geography gives India an advantage over China in the Indian Ocean and the Indian Navy is keeping a close watch over submarines deployed by China under the garb of anti-piracy, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba has said. Speaking exclusively to SNI, Admiral Lanba touched upon a host of issues, including the challenges and vulnerabilities of the proposed Kra Thai Canal and how Iran was keeping the U.S. out of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) despite New Delhi supporting Washington’s bid to become an observer.
