New Delhi’s worries of a potential Chinese base in the Maldives’ have reduced after the electoral win of the Ibrahim Solih-led Government. But. a former Home Minister under the previous regime questions whether the Maldives’ has given in to India’s strategic need for a military presence on the archipelago.
