Just about 3 days ago was Gandhi Jayanti, it’s a day when we honour Bapu Ji. A man who stood for and died for Universal brotherhood. He is a man who believed that India should be definitively secular, in-divisively united. He believed greatly in the brotherhood of man. Unfortunately Aligarh Muslim University has played fast and lose with the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. On that very day, the university held an exhibition displaying Muhammad Ali Jinnah’ picture as well along with Mahatma Gandhi to mark Gandhi Jayanti. Now this comes months after a portrait of Muhammad Ali Jinnah at the students union office caused a massive row. Even as pictures of Bapu with Jinnah came up in AMU, the PRO of the university has denied any such things, he completely dismisses reports of Jinnah portraits being brought in AMU despite proof on camera.
