The UN Relief & Works Agency for Palestine refugees was never meant to last 70 years.  But the world’s failure to realise a Palestine state meant that the agency had to continue providing basic services to a staggering five million registered refugees spread over Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Gaza and the West Bank. SNI spoke to Pierre Krahenbuhl, commissioner-general of the agency.
