The Indian budget every year has always been an eagerly awaited event. For many decades, the best minds in economics, finance, tax, business and industry throng the media house to analyze the provisions shared by the Financial Minister.
Sometimes major events completely disconnected may be data points for the plans of the different powers around the world. The challenge is to discern what purpose they serve? More critically, what are we moving towards?
When the US Ambassador threatened India's "Strategic Autonomy" policy over India's friendship with Russia - much more than meets the eye was at stake. Let us unpack how the Ukraine war has fundamentally changed the US and the world. And why are we here anyway?
Today let us discuss about COVID-19 and how it is impacting.
corona virus reality check
As India’s cases near 60,000 mark, everyone is worried in India. And many have started talking about doomsday scenario. And of course, about the statistics by the government not being correct. Look at these numbers of Deaths/ 1 Million of population. India is nowhere near the rest of the countries. So, if people are taking the other countries as the benchmark, they have to realize the miracle that the Modi government has pulled off. For those who think the death numbers are wrong - they need to follow their logic through. It takes 500 kg to cremate a body. So if India was off by a few thousands, then we are talking of several tons of wood that would be needed. As long as you do not find the extra bodies on the roads. So, whatever number you propose, back it up with the wood that would have been used to cremate them! You see, you cannot simply shoot out nonsensical theories without taking that theory to its logical end.

aarogya setu
In the history of disaster management, one of the tools that will form the basis of many future case studies is aarogya setu. Its a mobile app from the Government of India, which connects people with health services. And, it has been extremely successful. Pathbreaking use of mobile technology.
Since its launch on April 2 this year, over 96 million people have registered with the Aarogya Setu health care application, which has become the fastest mobile app to reach 50 million users globally . The Aarogya Setu has helped the government with its twin objective – “whom to test” and “where to test more” in its battle against COVID-19.
In a country as complex and difficult to move around and take stock of things, this app has been like a god send for tracking hot-spots and managing them!
pampered press losing out
In these last few months, the news media has been losing money big time. This industry has suffered a loss of Rs 4,000 − Rs 4,500 crore in March and April itself. The advertisements have dried up. So the newspapers represented by Indian Newspaper Society (INS) is asking the government for a stimulus.
This is an opportunity and harbinger of change in the media industry in India. Old institutions, which have become sick and corrupted in newspaper industry will collapse. And, they should. For, they are no longer serving the function that they should have been doing. Now, the newspapers and media is an extension of those who want to disrupt the society. In the coming days we will share a detailed post on media bias and also how we need to stand up to enable the new situation to be a harbinger of a world of well-being.
palghar lynching
Palghar lynching was one of the worst things anyone could have witnessed even on a video file. We all did. Shameful thing is that it was all orchestrated where politicians, police and many Breaking India forces collaborated. The sheer dastardly nature of the whole episode is disturbing. Now, we come to know how the bodies of the two Sadhus and their driver lie desecrated.
India was the only land, where we were told by our Sages that you and you alone are responsible for whatever happens to you. No God is responsible for that. That is why we were told that what happened in our lives was “our karma”. There is no interventionist God. It is important to read what Lord Ram’s Guru - Sage Vasistha - taught him about fate, destiny and self effort.
Some interesting nuggets from Vasishtha’s Yoga: - IN this world whatever is gained.. is gained only by self effort; where failure is encountered it is seen there has been slackness in the effort.
How could we have forgotten these important lessons and slipped into a mindset, where we were waiting for miracles from God? A God, whose existence has not been confirmed by any space probe or telescope scanning the Universe. Because the Dharmic understanding of God was very different. That is why the words we chose were also done carefully. Go through this basic but important differentiation.
The I.N.D.I.A alliance has clearly expressed its election plank - annihilation of Sanatan Dharma or Hinduism. In order to dismantle the Modi government. It is not an electoral battle anymore but a civilizational battle now.
Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven wrote about disruptive militant protests in 1966. Movements like Occupy, Woke protests were its offsprings. Even in India, anti-Modi government protests bear its imprint. An analysis.
'The Vaccine War' is a beautiful story of very complex times. Vivek Agnihotri has weaved together a masterpiece dealing with a subject very few would have touched. The pandemic and the triumph of India.
Chandrayaan-3 landing on South side of moon was not just the triumph of scientists at ISRO today but a tradition and history of science that looks at exploration as a spiritual path. It is a story of a battle against all odds and challenges!
