The Definitive Portrait of Alauddin Khilji

The Definitive Portrait of Alauddin Khilji

Amir Khusrau, the celebrated but bigoted jihadi Sufi, wrote an entire account of Alauddin Khilji’s life titled “Khaza in ul Futuh” (which translates as “Treasures of Victory”, a euphemism for booty of war).

We have discussed how bigoted Amir Khusrau was and has yet been hoisted on Indians, specifically Hindus, as some sort of a spiritual person (Amir Khusrau – the Sick Bigoted Psychopath).

In a rather one-sided ‘dialog’ between Tarek Fatah and Javed Akhtar, where the latter bulldozed over the former with his cantankerous and groundless arguments, Akhtar tried to make a hero out of the very character that Amir Khusrau, the bigoted psychopath devoted his entire life studying and eulogizing.

Of course, Khusrau, as we saw, had a mind that saw even Alauddin Khilji as a “moderate” and one who didn’t do enough to finish off the Hindus in India.  He did, however, celebrate what Khilji was able to do.  That, Khilji, is the person that Akhtar was lionizing.

Why?  Because Khilji stopped Mongols from entering India!  And, presumably, Hindus should thank their stars that it was Khilji who plundered, raped, killed them, and destroyed their temples!

And one was listening and thinking – So what?!  So, bloody what?  Is Khilji, Javed Akhtar’s idea of serendipitous windfall for India and Hindus?!

What Khilji did in his lifetime was no less.  Maybe if the Mongols came and destroyed some of the resident Islamic royalty, the battles would have meant less power to the Islamic invaders within India.  For, their intent was always the same – destruction and impoverishment of Hindus and installation of the Caliphate.

Alauddin Khilji and the Deluge of Infidel blood

The year was 1299.  A century was coming to an end.  Alauddin sent two of his generals – Ulugh Khan and Nusrat Khan.  They marched to Gujarat with their lashkars and a large army.  They plundered The whole of Gujarat, including Nahrwala.

The kind in Gujrat fled to Ram Deo at Deogir, while his wives, daughters, treasures, and elephants fell into the hands of the Muslim Army.

Khusrau, the ever so poetic psychopath, wrote about all this in his own inimitably sick style.

As to the city of Nahrwala and the city of Kambayat (Cambay), which the sea raises its head to swallow up, as well as the other cities situated on the coast – though the sea beats against them with force, yet the wave of Muslim army did not turn to the sea to wash off the contamination of infidelity from the land, but cleansed the ground by a deluge of infidel blood; for if blood is not clean, and cannot cleanse, yet the sword is a purifier and the sword having overcome the infidels, their blood became pure also.  My object in this simile is not real blood, but (only to show) that the sword of Islam purified the land as the sun purifies the earth.Extract from Khaza in ul Futuh translated by Mohammad Habib

Amir Khusrau believed that the Hindus were “contaminating” the land.  And, further, though their blood was “impure”, it was “purified” after it was spilled by the sword of the Muslim.

Read the above quote slowly, contemplating on every word and putting yourself in the place of the inhabitants of India – the Hindus.

And, then try and understand what kind of sick and lowly mind the writer would have had.  The Amir Khusrau.

Dwell on the utter darkness and evil of the mind of that bigot psychopath – Amir Khusrau.  And, his master Alauddin Khilji.

Once you have spent some time with Khusrau and Khilji, think of those who normalize these two diabolical creatures.  Who would do that?  And why?

When Javed Akhtar and the numerous leftists, Islamists and the Secularists do that, know it clearly that no matter what camouflage they use, you cannot and should not, NEVER, mistake their shameless diabolical Hindu-hatred.  Pedestal for those who saw finishing Hindus or “grounding them down” as their divine mission cannot be an innocent agenda.

Behind that mask of word and culture artistry lies the darkness and evil of Khusrau and the intent of Khilji, which portrayed the very sword that massacred Hindus into a source of their supposed purification.  Very few in human history have come up with this kind of savagery with words as Amir Khusrau, and fiendish depredation as of Khilji and his men.

Destruction of Somnath – Khilji’s act in Gujarat

Somnath was a temple that had been destroyed by Mahmud Ghazni.  And it had been restored again.  Khilji’s army that plundered Gujarat and massacred Hindus, which Khusrau delighted in, also destroyed the great Somnath Temple.

Alauddin Khilji Somnath
This extract from Dawal Rani – in the notes of “The Campaigns of Alauddin Khilji

The temple was overthrown with so much force that the Earth beneath it trembled.  That was the intensity of their savagery.  What was done in Gujarat and Somnath was not one-off destruction of Hindus by Alauddin Khilji and his men.

Subduing Hindus and killing them to make them submissive by making them impoverished was his strategy to rule and grow.

Impoverished Hindus might be ground down

The paramount concern of Alauddin Khilji during his reign was on how to “HIndus might be ground down and their property or wealth ……might no longer remain with them” (from “The Reign of Alauddin Khilji – Translated from Zia-ud-din Barani’s Tarikh-i-Firuz Shahi”)

“Hindus might be ground down.. and their property and wealth might no longer remain with them” – pg 76

And how did he propose to do this?  The ‘grounding down” of the Hindus?

One, by levying debilitating 50% tax on the produce by Hindus based on the total land possessed by them – cultivable or not.  Irrespective of the land holding.  Full value of the produce per biswah was taken as the basis of the calculation. Second, Grazing tax on every animal that gives milk from a cow to a she-goat.

And, third by levying a dwelling tax on every house of a Hindu.

And why was Khilji going through all this to destroy Hindus?

To make them submissive and obedient.  He was told to levy Jiziya and expect the Hindu to be subjugated.  To him that was not enough.  He wanted to destroy them so comprehensively and so utterly that Hindus would have no alternative in their impoverished and destitute state – to obey Khilji’s command.

Extract from “The Reign of Alauddin Khilji – Translated from Zia-ud-din Barani’s Tarikh-i-Firuz Shahi” pg 83 and 84)

That is what he explained to the Qazi who counseled that he subjugates the Hindus with the Jizya.  Instead, he went for three types of taxes50% of produce, on all milking animals and on dwellings that the Hindus had stayed in for many millennia!

Destruction of the grand Rudra Mala Shiva Temple of Siddhpur, Gujarat

Peter Mundy, a traveler during Shah Jahan’s time discussed many things as we saw in the article on Shah Jahan.  He also interestingly discusses the destruction of more temples in India by the Muslims.

During his journey to Surat, he was at Sidhpur, in district Patan in Gujarat.  Sidhpur is known for its temples and is called as a Sristhal.

A prominent temple that Mundy found to be majestic stood there.  This had been destroyed by the Moors (or Muslims) and the idols broken.

Extract from Travels of Peter Mundy Vol 2

The temple he talked about was Rudra Mahalaya Temple or Rudramal at Siddhpur in the Patan district of Gujarat.  It was started in 943 AD by Mularaja and completed in 1140 AD by Jayasimha Siddharaja, the rulers of the Chaulukya dynasty.  This Rudra Mahalaya temple was destroyed and converted into a mosque by Alauddin Khilji.  It was later further destroyed by Ahmed Shah.

Photographer and Writer Murray Burgess talks about it in his book (1874) Photographs of Architecture and Scenery in Gujarat and Rajputana.

How Alauddin Khilji destroyed Rudra Mahalaya

As Burgess explains, Khilji’s army not just destroyed and plundered the temple in Siddhpur, but also built a mosque over it.  Burgess later discusses the glory of that magnificent temple, even in its destroyed state!

Burgess discusses about the Rudra Mala temple and the Shiva linga there.

The Real Alauddin Khilji and his Modern apologists

HInduphobia and bigotry has an agenda and a stratagem.  To demonstrate the in your face hatred and yet feign otherwise.  They will use words of deflection and repudiate every massacre, every destruction, every plunder by literary chicanery.

Not only will they try to prove that those depredations that marred the very soul and heart of this nation – India – did not happen, despite the documented evidence, but those who did engineer them were actually our saviors.  That they instead saved Hindus.

Now, go back to Javed Akhtar’s argument.  And then the words of Amir Khusrau on his ecstasy on seeing the Hindu blood.  And, ask your self the question – how is Javed Akhtar any less a psychopath than Amir Khusrau?  Alauddin Khilji, the bigoted mad man and Jihadi, was master to both of them!
