India of today has a group of characters who threaten and target the very fabric of society.
For example, there is Rahul Gandhi who openly threatens bureaucrats and agencies for processing the crimes that the Congress party has been involved with. Openly threatening to target the bureaucrats while accusing them of colluding with the government just because the Congress government is at the receiving end.
Political enmity is one thing and that is par for the course. But to threaten the people who carry out legal actions is the greatest subversion of democracy there is. But then he is the scion of a family that started the free India as a dictatorship and then the family imposed the Emergency with no voice for anyone.
So what Rahul Gandhi has in his mind regarding the terror that he will unleash on hapless bureaucrats if he were to ever come to power in India is a challenge to every Indian citizen.
For, rights of every citizen are in danger.
1975 redux?
And, this has been the hallmark of what is happening in Bengal as well.
It is the Politics of Rape.
Of the whole society in general and women in particular.
Women have borne the brunt. They are made into an example. The ideological groups that purport to impose their version of the world on everyone make inroads into new areas by targeting the women of those people.
Raping them and impregnating them is a way they use to destroy the victim's identity.

Crime and Bengal
West Bengal has one of the highest crimes against women in India. Dalits are being targeted specifically.
In such a vulnerable state of India, the Chief Minister - a woman - has a party that prizes woman as war booty and a weapon of political battles.
Sandeshkhali - 'Prove your Rape'
Shahjahan Sheikh, a powerful Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader in Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, was found to be involved in a range of crimes against the local women, including sexual harassment and land grabbing.
Sheikh, you see, has been a key person for the West Bengal Chief Minister. And for that reason he has had a steady rise in the TMC over the past decade. He is the key accused in Sandeshkhali.
The TMC goons would target homes with "beautiful wives" and "young girls", taking them to the party office where they would be sexually assaulted over multiple nights.
"The party (Trinamool) men would come and survey a home that has a beautiful wife, whose girl is young. Then they take the women to the party office... Nights after night they would be kept there... till they are satisfied," alleged a woman in a video that has now gone viral. When the women came out to share their crimes, Trinamool Congress and its accomplices tried to gaslight them.
Who is Papiya Sultana? She is a Muslim IPS officer, who was sent by Mamata Banerjee to Sandeshkhali as part of a commission for providing the "ground report".
Ms Sultana asked the rape victims for medical reports to prove they had been raped.
The silencing of the victims was confirmed by the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women in India, Ms Rekha Sharma in a post on X.

Not only did the police in Sandeshkhali not file complaints of the rape victims but they created cases against the relatives of those women!
The situation in Sandeshkhali came to a head on January 5, when an Enforcement Directorate team raided Sheikh's house, leading to a mob attack that injured three officials. Sheikh managed to escape at the time.
When the Calcutta High Court persisted, then the same police force that was gaslighting Shahjahan Sheikh's victims "arrested" him.
On the run for 55 days since the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided his house, Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) strongman in Sandeshkhali Shahjahan Sheikh was arrested by the West Bengal Police on Thursday. Sheikh and his aides are among the key accused in cases of land grab and sexual harassment that surfaced following violent protests in Sandeshkhali island of North 24 Parganas district. The arrest came days after the Calcutta High Court had clarified that there is no stay on Sheikh’s arrest and it had only stayed a single judge’s order on February 7 to constitute a Special Investigation Team to probe allegations that ED officers were attacked while trying to conduct raids at Sheikh’s residence (on January 5). During the hearing, the bench also pulled up the state government for failing to arrest Sheikh for more than 50 days. Sheikh and his accomplices, Shibu Hazra and Uttam Sardar, were facing charges under Section 376D (gang rape) under the Indian Penal Code.
When the opposition in Bengal led by the BJP protested, the BJP President, Sukanta Majumdar, was injured by the police.
West Bengal police has crossed all limits. They have violated every rule in the book to please Mamata Banerjee, who is evil, and hasn’t stopped from using rape and torture of Hindu women in Sandeskhali, for her politics.
And those women who did speak out were being targeted along with their families for having well, just spoken against the crimes unleashed on them!
A woman who has alleged sexual assault by local Trinamool Congress leaders in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali on February 18 said that miscreants ransacked her house on February 17. “Last night, I was not at home. A group of miscreants came and attacked the house. They hurled abuses at me and my father-in-law,” the survivor told The Hindu. These allegations come only a day after West Bengal Police went on record and said that it had added charges of gangrape on the basis of a complaint by the woman before a magistrate. The woman made these allegations before the magistrate on February 16 and named local Trinamool Congress leaders Uttam Sardar and Shiboprasad Hazra in her complaint. “They wanted to kill me. Had I been at the house at night, they would have certainly killed me,” the survivor said, pointing to parts of her thatched house that appeared to have been damaged. This sparked widespread protests by local women, who took to the streets carrying brooms and sticks, demanding Sheikh's immediate arrest.
Victim targeting has been made into an art by the West Bengal government. NCW reiterated that.
The NCW Report said - The testimonies from women in the village painted a harrowing picture of widespread fear and systematic abuse.
It is no surprise that in such a situation, women were not coming out and talking to the police.
And, the West Bengal Police not only gave a clean chit to the criminals and the government but also warned the media of action if they reported the crimes that the police personnel like Papiya Sultana had worked hard to bury with impractical asks from the victims. Based on which of course the entire police force declared an All Okay verdict.
Nothing to see.
The Criminals are busy targeting women of a certain religion and caste — the Dalit Hindus.
Please give them their privacy and space.

But the media reported. Here is one such channel which discussed the crimes.
Later on, under pressure from the media and the courts, things went beyond the normal burying of the news.
Now, the goalpost was to be changed. From "Nothing happened" to "Everything will be returned" was a quick turn of events.
Mamata Banerjee in her grandiose exhibition of political histrionics of which she is an expert, proclaimed that the Sandeshkhali victims would "get everything back."
"Even dignity?"

Violence is the weapon of choice when it comes to the governments of West Bengal. It was so under the communists and it is no different under Mamata Banerjee.
Violence as an Election Strategy
In the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections, scores of BJP workers were killed. A punishment for daring to even stand opposite the mighty TMC.
Abhijit Sarkar was one of them. Beleghata MLA Paresh Pal was the one involved in murdering Sarkar.
The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sealdah court, Thursday framed charges against 20 accused in the murder of BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar in the Kankurgachi area in an alleged post-poll violence incident in 2021. Ten of the accused are currently in the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the central agency probing the case, while 10 others are still on the run. On May 2, 2021, the day the Assembly poll results were announced in Bengal, Sarkar was murdered. According to Sarkar’s family, he was strangled and then the accused hit him on his head with a heavy object. Sarkar’s brother Biswajit claimed that local Trinamool leaders had threatened him and his sibling with dire consequences during the elections. Even during the Panchayat elections, the goons did not allow the BJP candidates to file the nomination papers.
Yesterday, bombs were hurled to stop Opposition candidates from filing nominations in the Panchayat poll… These are visuals from Bhangar, just behind New Town, on the outskirts of Kolkata, the seat of power in Bengal.
Because Amnesty International and other Human Rights organizations are now openly supporting violent Jihad.

Not just the Yazidis but any woman whom they could get to - like an American Kayla Mueller - were raped repeatedly and often killed.

In the case of ISIS, as in other such situations, it was a woman who was organizing the sex trade.
As a captive in al-Shadadiya, Ms Mueller was often visited by the Isis leader, say the Yazidi girls, who cooked and cleaned in the house. Rape was a “reward” for Isis victories. And, according to those held captive, many Yazidi women passed through the house on their way to being given as “presents” or sold to Isis fighters. The Yazidi girls say the sex trade was organised by Umm Sayyaf, the Iraqi wife of Abu Sayyaf, a Tunisian Isis financier. She was captured in Syria in May by US Special Forces and has reportedly been co-operating with military interrogators.
A society and trade built upon war booty.
Or as The Kerala Story showed, a war that is manufactured globally against other beliefs and people, while using women from those societies as canon fodder. All for supremacist agendas.
Grooming or Love Jihad is not just an Indian phenomenon. But a European phenomenon as well.
In the war that is ensuing in the minds of the "faithful" deceptively picking up women of other religious groups is a valid war booty as well.
Rape Camps: Strategy to Eliminate Hindus
In a bleak and secluded area, a truck came to an abrupt stop, its doors swinging open to reveal a harrowing sight: countless women, weakened and bound together, emerged from the darkness. Their numbers were vast, a silent testament to the scale of the tragedy unfolding. The army quickly organized them, sorting them into lines and dividing them by age. A chilling selection ensued: those deemed unable to bear children were mercilessly executed on the spot, while others, seen as capable of motherhood, were set aside for a fate arguably worse. They were to be confined to a camp, subjected to unimaginable atrocities with the intent of forcing them into motherhood. They were being taken to a "Rape Camp."
How many women do you think were raped?
Systematically.

The result was devastating and traumatic. The army left no stone unturned to carry out the orders of the Pakistani government. Women were hunted down, picked up from their homes, schools, streets and even their bedrooms and raped barbarously. Many writers say this was ethnic cleansing of the Bengalis by the Punjabi elites in the Pakistani army.
No. It wasn't so because the Bengali Razakars and the Al-Badr jihadis were part of the invading troops.
It systematically buried all evidence and truth about a Hindu Genocide in Bangladesh by the Pakistani War Criminals aka the Army.
Rather than basing this accusation primarily on the victimization of Hindus, India tended to focus on the decimation of the Bengalis as a group.
From Indira Gandhi and down, it was decided to "cover-up". So the story of the rape and plight of the Bengali Hindus was to the others to tell. Like Gary Bass.
The crime... the real crime of a religious genocide hidden, and narratives sanitized, one of the worst genocides in modern times globally was buried deep.
By the Indian government.
So when the same groups - euphemistically called "Secular groups" - see the victims of that era being provided citizenship on a fast track via the Citizenship Amendment Act in India, they cannot reconcile their own morally bankrupt demonic mind to the new reality of restitution of rights to the people they had consigned to the flames of carnage without any acknowledgment!
As luck would have it, aided by the Indian government's burying the truth, the Pakistanis used that as the narrative to whitewash their own crimes.
In late 2015, in a strongly worded statement, Pakistan denied any role of its government or establishment in the genocide in 1971. This was the period when the Bangladesh government had trials to bring the war criminals in their own midst to justice for their crimes.
Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid of the Jamaat e Islami and Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury of the Bangladesh National Party (BNP) were convicted by War Crimes Courts set up by the Bangladesh government.
Basically, they not only denied any role, but called out the people even speaking about it as if they were propagandists.
Victim's voice has a new definition in such times and states - propaganda.
And this is critical to remember.
During a live broadcast on Republic TV Bangala, covering the heightened tensions in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal, journalist Santu Pan was abruptly detained by the police on February 19. Video evidence captures the moment law enforcement officers forcefully removed Pan from the scene of the protests in Sandeshkhali, located in the 24 Parganas district.
